After our actual verification, the charging loss computed on the wattage of the solar panel is 19%. Thus the ratio of of input to output is 1.24:1 and not 1.5:1. Our revised cost in using colar is 1,960 x1.24/1.5 or P1,633, thus narrowing the gap. Still, this is not yet taking into account price escalation of Meralco's price which is reported to be close to 300% every 10 years.
Now, going back to the cost of a 120watt solar panel,it is P24,000 and the controller is P1,000.The battery will be P5,000. Total of P30,000.
